Training at Seagull Print
Seagull Print aims to provide employment training and rehabilitation, within the context of a commercial enterprise, for people with mental health problems seeking to return to mainstream employment.
We aim to enhance our placement of employment trainees employment opportunities by providing work experience and work preparation training, support and guidance in a sympathetic and supportive, yet realistic, working environment.
The project is managed by a team of experienced and committed voluntary directors who have expertise in mental health, business and finance. The directors work closely with a small team of professional staff.
As we are in every sense a commercial operation, we have been able to create a work ethos and culture which replicates a mainstream working environment. This ensures that preparation is realistic and thorough, and that clients are aware of what an employer is likely to expect.
The training programme focuses on key requirements like punctuality, regular attendance, discipline, developing appropriate work relationships, the timely completion of tasks to a satisfactory standard.
However, the way in which we organise ourselves allows us to respond to the needs of each individual and the environment is safe enough to allow employment trainees to make mistakes.
